SilverwillSilverwill v1.6

Silverwill addresses a common need, that of managing to-do lists of tasks.

Many people manage their day-to-day activities with lists. People keep lists at work, at home, everywhere they go so they don't forget what needs to be done.

Lists lie at the heart of fundamental management. When you give people more than one job to do, the good ones make lists in one form or another. When your boss gives you something to do, you add it to your list. Workers gain satisfaction by completing items on their lists. Managers gain satisfaction by observing the completion of tasks and reporting successes to clients.

Wouldn't it be great if you, your workers, and your boss used a simple electronic system of managing your lists of things to do? The benefits jump to mind right away. With the right software tool, tasks could easily be passed from person to person. With the ability to track status and to capture notes, this shared list quickly becomes a powerful vehicle for communication between you, your staff, and even your clients.

That is what Silverwill was designed to do. Software Engineering needed such a tool but could find nothing that offered the ease and simplicity desired. Complex and expensive software systems are available to tackle this problem. Most of them go far beyond the needs of Software Engineering to the point of becoming unusable due to complexity and associated training requirements.

Managers need a simple and effective means of expressing their will to their workers. Workers in turn need a simple and effective means of communicating the progress and status of their work to their managers. Silverwill is designed to fill this need with elegant simplicity. Redundancy is avoided. The result is a clean simple interface to an incredibly powerful system of communication for managers and workers.
